Description
As the sun goes down in Eastern Washington, the irrigation pipes start pumping millions of gallons of water onto thirsty fields of wheat, alfalfa and various other cereal crops. All over the arid West irrigation is the lifeblood of the agriculture industry. Land that was once sagebrush and jackrabbits is now bountiful beyond the wildest dreams of early settlers who often passed over this dry and forebidding land to seek out the fertile river valleys and plentiful rainfall of the Pacific Coast region. 35mm transparency
