Description
A great, haunting image. This porcellain head fragment was sitting in the midst of Seattle painter David Allison's window shell collection, and he was gracious enough to let me photograph it. Apparently he rescued it from a roomful of smashed mannequins left over from the 1932 Chicago World's Fair. The eyelashes are made of real hair, and the glass eye and pitted "skin" make for a disturbingly real image. 35mm black and white or sepia, 1981.
