Ordering Information
Description
Part of the ritual of the game is knocking the dirt off your cleats before you step into the batter's box. There was a time when many pitchers took umbrage at this act, especially if you took too much time doing it, and the very first pitch would come whizzing in at your chin. The batter didn't charge the mound, the umpire didn't issue a "warning" to both sides that this would not be tolerated--the game simply went on, and the message was delivered.
